NICARAGUA NEWS — The Seismic Network of Nicaragua registered Monday a 3.9 magnitude seism with epicenter off El Astillero, in the southern Rivas department, in the Pacific coast.
According to the Institute of Territorial Studies, the quake occurred at 03:26 local time, atg a depth of 15 km.
This country is in the area known as “Ring of Fire”, a circum-Pacific seismic belt along over 40,000 km thatconcentrate most active volcanoes in the planet, where seismic events of higher magnitude are most frequently registered.
