TODAY NICARAGUA – The main dairy producers and exporters in the region are preparing for the beggining of operations in Nicaragua by the Mexican dairy plant Lala.

It is expected that by early 2015 the plant owned by the company Lala will start operating in Nicaragua, meaning that “… Competition for the Central American market over milk and its derivatives will be more intense. ”

This will have an immediate impact on milk producers and milk production in general because Lala also comes with a plan to achieve higher productivity and cooperate in the genetic change of Nicaraguan livestock to obtain better and more milk,” says presidential delegate for investment, Alvaro Baltodano.

Lala will operate in Nicaragua under the temporary admission procedure for Inward (RĂ©gimen de AdmisiĂłn Temporal para Perfeccionamiento Activo (Ley 382)), which allows both the entry of goods into the national customs territory and local purchases without payment of any duties and taxes. The goods may also be re-exported or exonerated.
