TODAY NICARAGUA – The Legislative Assembly will resume discussion of a bill which seeks to regulate the processes of outsourcing and subcontracting personnel by companies in the country.
According to legislators who support this initiative, the purpose is to regulate companies which provide outsourcing services and, in some cases, avoid paying employee benefits.
Elnuevodiario.com.ni reports that “… When the Legislature resumed talks on the initiative in February 2012, private companies spoke out against it, arguing that the law at that time was unnecessary because it would only raise operating costs for businesses. ”
“… The initiative, which was presented by a legislator in the Sandinista National party, FSLN, Alba Palacios in April 2009, will be discussed during these three months, confirmed lawmaker Eda Cecilia Medina, vice president of the commission. ”
