Nicaraguan National Assembly President in Taiwan

NICARAGUA NEWS (TAIPEI) – Nicaraguan National Assembly President Rene Nuñez is in Taiwan heading a delegation from his country to attend the National Day celebrations of the Asian country on Oct. 10.

Rene Nuñez - 1Nuñez and his entourage began their five-day visit to Taiwan on Tuesday. They are expected to meet with Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou, diplomatic sources said.

Besides attending the celebrations on Friday, Nuñez and his team will promote parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

He will also meet the speaker of Taiwan’s parliament, Wang Jin-pyng, and Deputy Foreign Minister Simon Ko and other high senior officials.

Before their scheduled departure on Saturday, the delegation is expected to visit several economic and cultural centers in Taiwan.
