NICARAGUA NEWS — (Prensa Latina) Representatives from six nations will seek to win at the 2nd stage of the 14th Cycling Tour of Nicaragua, the first stage was won by Costa Rican athlete Gabriel Marin.
Marin completed the day before a heavy rain, a stage with more than 100 kilometers (62.1 miles) from the capital and to the city of Leon, in time of one hour, 50 minutes and 44 seconds.
After the Costa Rican cycling sprinter, who reinforced a home team, the finish line was reached by Argenis Rivas from Nicaragua.
Seven teams from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and the United States, and eight national teams, are competing in the event, which consists of five stages and a total of 430 kilometers (267.1 miles) to be completed until next Sunday.
According to the organizers, the Thursday competition will begin in Managua, and include departments such as Granada and Masaya, to end in Jinotepe, located about 46 kilometers from the capital.
The third stage will be held on Friday; the fourth on Satuerday and the fifth, against the clock, the last day of the event.
