NICARAGUA NEWS – Authorities remain vigil and are tracking a seismic swarm recorded Tuesday morning near the Momotombo Volcano.
The Instituto Nicaragüense de Estudios Territoriales (Ineter) said it recorded a series of about 20 small earthquakes around 10:50am Tuesday, the biggest registering 3.4 on the Richter scale.
The quakes were felt in various areas, including La Paz Centro and Nagarote.
According to experts, these types of events can produce replicas for up to 12 months, continuing seismic events near the Momotombo.
