From zero hour (midnight) this Thursday, June 14, Nicaragua is experiencing the 24-hour national strike, “paro” in Spanish, called by the Alliance for Democracy and Justice, the Higher Council for Private Enterprise (COSEP), and different representatives of civil society.
Banks, gasoline stations, malls, markets, restaurants, storefront retail, services, drug stores, medical clinics, just about everything was closed down for the day.
