Tie a Yellow Ribbon for the Five, A Call from Nicaragua

The Cuban embassy in Nicaragua called to join this September 12th initiative to show a yellow ribbon to demand the release of the Cuban Five in the United States.

A yellow ribbon for Antonio Guerrero , Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Fernando Gonzalez , who have remained in U.S. prisons for 15 years, with penalties ranging up to two life terms , by following up the actions against their people from U.S. territory .

The proposal is that in this way all people reasert their support for the Cuban Five, as they are called terrorists , with which Rene Gomzalez was convicted and imprisoned and is now in Cuba after serving his sentence.

From September 5 to October 6 an International Day will go on with the demand for the release of these heroes of the Republic of Cuba and the idea of putting a yellow ribbon came for René , who said that this will be the best way to raise that demand to the US people .

” On September 12 the country is to be full of yellow ribbons ,” says the message of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Nicaragua and reproduces the statements by Cuban Television .

René recalled that day marks 15 years of their arrests and therefore want the solidarity day this year to be unique.

Encouraged to keep his four brothers from fulfilling their full penal sentences imposed on them unfairly , especially Gerardo , sentenced to two life sentences and , therefore, to die in prison.

René recognized the affection shown to them by the Cuban people and the world in recent years through letters , messages, and other children’s drawings , and requested that love is the star of the day in 2013 .

For the Cuban hero , the greatest aspiration is that this September 12th an earthquake of love , with a message to the US people through a symbol is a sign of love : the yellow ribbon.

“We want to be a different day and we want to be the last day and I think this is the time to bring them home and for that we have the support of you ,” said the Cuban hero .
