NICARAGUA NEWS – Two fumigation planes collided in the air today in the Nicaraguan Department of Chinandega, about 170 kilometers from the capital, an accident that killed two people.
According to the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC), the aircrafts, a Cessna 188 and a Grumman G164, collided shortly before 7:20 am, local time, while they were performing duties of aerial fumigation of banana and sugarcane crops respectively.
INAC reported that after learning the incident, the Search, Salvage and Rescue and Accident Investigation teams, were mobilized to the site and confirmed the death of both pilots.
At present, the Accident Investigation Commission is gathering all the information about the accident to determine its causes, reported the INAC.
