Two early morning quakes, registering 6.4 and 5.5 on the Richter Scale, shook Nicaragua’s Pacific coast, causing alarm in several parts of the country. No reports of casualties or damages official sources reported.
The first quake hit at 3:37am central time (9:37 GMT), the replica at 3:41am some 23 kilometres (14 miles) west-southwest of the town of Jiquilillo, and 160 kilometres (99 miles) west-northwest of the capital Managua, the USGS reported.
The quake ‘s epicentre was at a depth of 70.9 kilometres (44 miles).
