
NICARAGUA NEWS — Secretary General of the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE), Francisco Quinonez, died Sunday following long illness, the Council reported Monday.
According to a press release, Quinonez boasted an impressive political and professional career.
He excelled from his early youth in the left-wing movements and was appointed ambassador to Panama and Colombia in the 80s.
In 2003 he was appointed CSE Secrertary General, leaving a great humanistic legacy, adds the note, in which the CSE conveys “its most heartfelt condolences to his wife, children and other relatives.”
