Daniel Ortega Meets Members of UN Subcommittee against Torture

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega met on Friday with representatives of the international mission of the United Nations Subcommittee against Torture. The visiting delegation is headed by the official of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR), Hernán Vales.

During their stay, the group met with authorities from the National Police, the Ministry of the Interior and the penitentiary system, according to local media.

They also learned about the project to build two new prisons in the country.
