At the White House on Wednesday, Lucia Pineda met with U.S. Vice-president Mike Pence, giving him a bracelet made by a former political prisoner.

“I told him that every time he saw the bracelet, he will remember that there are prisoners in Nicaragua who need the support of the United States to obtain their freedom,’ said Pineda.

Miguel Mora, who accompanied Lucia, detailed the state of repression in Nicaragua, the lack of freedoms, murders, persecutions.

The Vice President said he admired their faith and congratulated them for their courage

“The bracelet I gave to VP Pence was made by professor Ada Láinez of León, who was with me in the Chipote prison.
