TODAY NICARAGUA – An announcement has been made that this year will see the start of construction of a hotel and condos on the Pacific coast in the municipality of Tola, Rivas department.
The project which will be developed in an area of 55 blocks in Sardinas Beach already has an environmental permit and was ready to continue with the process when the indigenous community of the area began a process against it. Backed by a court, Sociedad Flor de Mayo Nicaragua is now preparing to resume the project and start work.
Gerald Membreño Palacios, director of the investment company, told Elnuevodiario.com.ni that “… The project has given $16,000 in taxes to the mayoral office and now is just waiting for the surveying and marking out of 50 meters from the beach in order to start. Once investors have complied with this phase, they will begin with road infrastructure, water, electricity and housing. ”
“… The project has had an environmental permit, from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources since 2009 and the only thing missing was permission from the community. “
