Nicaragua Supports Iran’s Nuclear Program

NICARAGUA NEWS – Nicaragua’s Foreign Minister, Samuel Santos, in Tehran Monday, said his country has recognized Iran’s right to have nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The remarks in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Santos said that Nicaragua has always supported Iran’s peaceful nuclear work.

Zarif, for his part, said “Iran and Nicaragua have stood by each other side in the face of different international ups and downs.”

According to Zarif, Iran’s intention is expand ties in Latin America, and that the strengthening of ties between his country and Nicaragua will contribute to regional and international peace and security.

Santos is the high ranking government official of the Nicaraguan delegation that arrived in Tehran on Monday.
