NICARAGUA NEWS – Nicaraguan police report the seizure of more than 100 kilos of cocaine in an operation in the department of Matagalpa, around 125 kilometres north from this capital. Police Public Relations chief Fernando Borges told the media that the drug had been found in different places in that department.
There were 85 kilograms hidden in truck, and several people were arrested and they will appear before Justice, he said.
In another sector, 50 more kilograms of cocaine were found, also hidden in a vehicle.
Borges explained that the operation was extended to several neighborhoods and resulted in the seizure of cranes, houses under construction, farms and vehicles, all of them related to the case in one way or another.
The official said this was a harsh blow to structures of the organized crime.
In another military action on August 16, carried out in Managua, they seized around 400 kilograms of cocaine, which were hidden in 10 sacks.
