The state-run Venezuelan Navigation Corporation (Venavega) handled and brought to Venezuela 15,000 tons of raw sugar from Puerto Corinto, Nicaragua, as part of cooperation between the two nations, official sources reported today. According to the company, the operation was part of the project ALBA Route-Petrocaribe and ratifies the continuity of bilateral collaboration agreements.
A Venavega ship arrived at Puerto Cabello, in Carabobo state, and was waiting for dock availability to unload the sugar.
New consignments have been scheduled for the next few months through the company Alba Alimentos de Nicaragua, in coordination with the Agricultural Supply and Services Corporation of Venezuela.
Venavegaâ’s Manager, Luis Francisco Campi, stressed that this type of negotiation among businesses allows trade relations between the two countries to flow.
