Unnamed Spanish software firm taps Nicaragua for development centre

news_1_6An unnamed Spanish company has confirmed an investment project to launch a software development center in Nicaragua, investment promotion agency ProNicaragua’s director Javier Chamorro was quoted as saying in international press reports.

The new center is also expected to provide services to other Latin American countries. Its location, investment amount and time frame are all yet to be announced.

Nicaragua has upped its participation in international fairs and has presented investment opportunities to around 200 foreign companies this year. The country projects a direct foreign investment of US$1.5bn for 2013 and US$1.8bn for 2014, compared to US$1.2bn in 2012.
