US Visa Lottery Starts October 1

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday October 1 , at 10:00 am, and until noon on Saturday November 2, the US Diversity Visa lottery program will be running, awarding 50.000 permanent resident visas to persons from countries with low immigration rates to the United States.

DV2seesdaNicaragua is not on the excluded countries list, for such Nicaraguans can apply.

Applicants must visit the website www.dvlottery.state.gov to complete the process electronically and in person .  This is the only available internet website to sign up.

This is a free service offered by the Department of State of the United States. NO intermediaries are required to enroll in the program.

The U.S. Embassy has no direct connection with this process, so applicants must enter the web page indicated for detailed information.

Only electronic applications will be accepted – No Paper. Each person must send ONLY ONE application, sending more than one application will mean immediate disqualification for participation in the program.

Applicants can verify and check on the status of their application at:. The website will also indicate if the application was accepted, which information will only be available after May 1, 2014.
