4.7 Quake Hits Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast

A 4.7 earthquake hit the Pacific coast of Nicauragua this morning, reports the Instituto Nicaragüense de Estudios Territoriales (Ineter).

397x200_1409840246_SismoThe quake occurred at 6:31AM, with its epicentre located some 60km off the beaches of Poneloya, in León, in Nicaragua’s northwest Pacific coast.

Inerte says the quake is a shock between the Cocos and Caribe plates.
