TODAY NICARAGUA (Prensa Latina) Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, received the representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (Unodc), Yury Fedotov, who called for strengthening cooperation in addressing these scourges, according to local reports.
The Executive Director of Unodc expressed interest in working with the government of this country in the fight against drug trafficking, corruption and organized crime.
As part of his agenda, the UN representative talked with officials from the Ministry of Interior, the police and the army on the citizen security model implemented in this nation.
Fedotov stressed the achievements in this regard and stated that “Nicaragua is fully committed to the implementation of the Unit Nations Convention against these scourges’.
‘I hope the fighting and efficient position of this people helps improve the security situation in the entire Central American region,” he said.
